Denise reveals how sunbeds have scarred her face
Modified By Fi on 17/04/2008 14:17:20)

Actress and TV presenter Denise Van Outen has revealed in Now magazine that her face has been left scarred by sunbeds.

Denise said she started using the tanning beds in her teenage years and became addicted, developing what is dubbed 'tanorexia'.  She says she now has scars on her face which she has to conceal with heavy make up.

She said: "I used a sunbed when I was 18 because I didn't know the risks, but I'm paying for it now.

"It's my big regret - I have pigmentation problems on my face.

"Girls are still using sunbeds, risking cancer for a tan.

"Tans fade and it's not worth the risk. Now my tan's from a bottle and safe."

Denise's confession follows the recent World Health Organisation's warning regarding the use of sunbeds - see http://www.beautyswapshop.co.uk/Forum/tabid/54/forumid/10/threadid/10259/scope/posts/Default.aspx
