Re: Make-up Fixer Spray

Hi, I have the same problems as Booty and find that nothing, not even camoflouge makeup (which is not supposed to come off) stays on my skin. I am so sick of being worried about my makeup all the time, especially when I am away on holidays. More so now that I am doing a makeup artists course as I will not be a very good example if my makeup is always sliding off. Would just like to know whether you (Booty) have managed to try this product yet. Also, I tried to find the Fix It Spray on line thru Mac but it does not appear there. I am in Australia so I do not know whether the range of products varies from country to country.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from someone who can help!

Re: Make-up Fixer Spray

I was just reading your blogs about fixer spray and that some of you you were wondering how you might keep your make-up on. Have you tried using a matifying base? Follower by a longwear foundation (derma is a little to creamy I always think, it's great for covering a scar or two but as some of you have said its keeping it on) The longwear bases such as revlon colourstay or ultima II, have a much dryer consistancy and therefore stay put. As a make-up artist I might mix a little on my hand in the morning and even after washing my hands all day long it will still be there at the night time. That isn't to say your face is the same, the oils you produce on your face are far more likely to break down the make-up but they do stay on VERY WELL! As for the fixer spray I have never really rated many of them, the MAC one is ok but you will find if you spend time applying your make-up correctly and using the right product for your skin, a fixer spray will make little or no difference.

Re: Make-up Fixer Spray

I find MAC Prep & Prime Face cream under my foundation, and MAC Fix+ spray on top keeps my make-up in place all day :)

Re: Make-up Fixer Spray

I have been using Lancome Pro Base make up primer  (approx £21)for a while now.  It's a clear solution that you apply after your moisturiser and before your foundation.  I find it really keeps my make up in place all day. It's good value as it lasts for ages. I use Maxfactor Lasting Performance foundation (it's an oldie but a goodie!).  I find this combination really good and hope some of you will try it nd get the same results.
