Cheaper alternative to Bio Oil
Modified By Fi on 27/01/2009 21:32:01)
I have been an on-off user of Bio Oil for quite a few years. As with many products, I have never used it frequently enough to confirm its effectiveness. However, during the past few months, I have used it daily on my face, in the bath, and (despite having greasy skin) have noticed an improvement in the appearance of my skin tone. Nevertheless, Bio Oil is relatively expensive when used on such a regular basis. A 60ml bottle costs over £8.00

By chance, I was in Pound World this week when I noticed a product called Rescue Oil. It makes similar claims to Bio Oil and says it “helps improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks.” The only differences I can comment on are that it does not claim to contain the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil (which Bio Oil lists in its ingredients) and that its colour appears to be a slightly darker orange. However, a 40ml (plastic bottle) costs unsurprisingly £1.00 and to be honest in the few days I have tried it, I prefer it!

Thanks for this - I saw this and wished it worked as well as Bio-Oil as it is so much cheaper. Glad to know you gave it the thumbs-up - I will try it! :D

Re: Cheaper alternative to Bio Oil

Just wondering if you know of any other shops that sell this product?  Not sure where a £ shop would be local to where I stay?

You can buy Rescue Oil from the mbstore website - see link below.  However, they are charging £1.79 + p&p.  Obviously, it won't be such a bargain if you do purchase it from there. Fi x

Evan Rachel Wood, star of American vampire drama True Blood, has dropped her goth rock appearance for a smoldering look as she takes the leading role in the ad for Gucci’s new fragrance.

The actress plays a reckless daredevil in the TV commercial directed by Sin City’s Frank Miller – representing the powerful personality of Gucci Guilty. Tipped as Hollywood’s next big thing, Chris Evans (who played Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four) stars alongside Wood as the ‘Gucci man’.

Gucci Guilty is the new oriental floral fragrance from the Italian fashion label. The seductive scent opens with mandarin and a punch of pink pepper, while a heart of lilac, geranium and peach sit atop a sensuous base of patchouli and voluptuous amber notes.

Free samples of Gucci Guilty are currently available to Debenhams' Beauty Club members. See the free samples thread for further details.
