Re: Budget versus Big Brands

I don't think that you necessarily get better products by paying more.  The most expensive mass market products are advertised a lot, and naturally the customer ulitmately is paying.  L'Oreal spends about a third of its turnover on above the line advertising. This means that a big chunk of what you pay for one of their products get spent selling you the next one.

Having said that, some raw materials used in natural products are very expensive.  Rose oil for instance can easily cost £2000 per kilogram at the moment and the price is rising.

Re: Budget versus Big Brands

I've always been a fan of Cover Girl. They're prices aren't outrageous, and their make-up is good. I've tried a lot of different cosmetics and found that a lot of them cause skin irritations for me. So usually if I find a brand that doesn't cause any irritations I stick with it.

Re: Budget versus Big Brands

for beauty products i always prefer big brands. I believe we should not mind paying some extra bucks if it is a matter of our beauty and body. We shoukd never compromise with it.
