Shampoo for curly hair

My hair is naturally curly, and I'm trying to find a shampoo that controls the curl while not weighing it down too much. I've been using Pantene for curly hair, and I like it, but I was wondering what everyone else uses.

Re: Shampoo for curly hair

I really like Garnier Fructis products for curly hair. They have a spritz to use on damp hair that seems to smooth my frizz but puts spring in my curls. It smells more "natural", sort of "greener" than most hair sprays and gels.

Re: Shampoo for curly hair

I use Pantene's relaxed and natural and I just love it.

As far as things having natural ingredients, read your labels carefully and look up what you see. Each company has its way of naming things. The same chemical sounding name might actually be a natural substance and you just can't tell from looking at the the label.

Re: Shampoo for curly hair

Hi there

Tigi Moisture Maniac is fantastic for curly hair. It not only adds the mositure that curly hair needs but helps to control the frizz. Tigi Control Freak is also a great product. most curly hair tends to frizz when in damp weather. Control Freak creates a barrier to stop the humidity frizzing your hair. Control Freak comes in 4 stages. Shampoo, Conditioner, Serum, Extra Straight Hair Spray.

Control Freak:

Catwalk Curls Rock is also a great product and comes in 6 stages from shampoo to hair spray, and is designed for curly hair.

Re: Shampoo for curly hair

The right shampoo is a good start, but you might want to try conditioners.  Give Mixed Chicks system a try.  You do it like this:

Shampoo,  rinse, deep condition, rinse, apply leave-in to clean wet hair and air dry... no towel.  Don't mess with it during the drying process and your curls will be defined and pretty much frizz free.  Mixed Chicks is a U.S. company with a website and some outlets in The U.K.   Good luck.
