Volume for baby fine hair

My hair is super fine, like baby hair. It's naturally wavy, so I've been styling it that way, but if I let it dry naturally, it falls completely flat.

Even when I take care to style it wavy, it tends to stay sort of lifeless unless I use a TON of heavy duty grandma style hairspray. I don't like doing that. I've tried mousse, blow-drying, etc.

Is there anything that actually WORKS for lifeless baby fine hair?

Re: Volume for baby fine hair

I have a trick that I use,I will try to explain it.......after your hair is dry, grab on side of your hair, all of it in your hand.

Have your hairspray in the other hand.Let the hair fall out of your hand a little at a time while spraying. The

spray will coat each hair strand and give it fullness. After the spray has dried.Lean your head to the

side, and spray the underneath side of your hair on both sides. Before the spray dries, spread your fingers

out and put your hands in your hair starting and your ears and hold your hair out until the spray is dry.

Then lightly spray all of your hair.Hope I explained this well enough, but it really does work.

Re: Volume for baby fine hair

That actually does work, but only temporarily... and I don't mean it lasts a few hours. I mean it lasts a few minutes!

If I walk away from the mirror and come back in a few minutes, my hair is laying flat again... still wavy/curly, but not full of life like I want it. If I continuously "scrunch" it throughout the day, it helps, but I have to do that every few minutes to revive it...

Braiiins, probably your only alterative would be to get a perm.Have you had one?I will talk to my daughter in law,she is a

hair stylist, and see what kind of input she has for you.

Re: Volume for baby fine hair

I have had them in the past, and my hair doesn't tend to hold them.

Every time I've brought it up with my stylist recently, he's said it would be a waste.

I think part of the problem is that my hair is baby fine, but I have A LOT of it.

I'd love to see what your daughter in law would say, though! :)
