Dealing with split ends

Battered and tattered ends are common, especially in hair that's shoulder-length or longer. As it grows (and ages), hair loses its ability to hold moisture and it gets brittle, breaks, and splits. Here's a simple solution - Take small sections of your hair and twist it tightly; the split ends should pop right out and you can cut them off with a good, sharp pair of scissors. You may want to have a friend help you with the back sections. To keep your hair healthy in the future, make sure you're protecting it from heat styling with a good leave-in conditioner like Redmond's Aussie Hair Insurance, which packs your hair with rich multivitamins without making it greasy (a major plus).

Yes I also feel that trimming is the best method to get rid of those tattered battered ends. I also practice this almost every four weeks and results are quite accurate.Protection from heat is equally important as it leaves hair dry open to further damage.

Yes! Trimming is the only wayt to really keep split ends at bay. This is not the same as cutting your hair. Just keeping it in good condition. And a good leave-in conditioner is so important. The ends must be protected.

WOW! I never had any idea about this.Whenever I tried keeping long hair, I always ended up losing some and my hair ends would look all tattered and battered.I'll try this out. Thanks for the advice.
