I am of Caucasion descent, I have short hair, I have always worn my hair in a low cut, but I need a change now, do you think that extensions would be a good idea. Not the braids, am referring to the hair that is sewn in.
I think extensions might just be what you may need, that or go bald but I kid. Be prepared extensions take quite a while to not only go in but come out as well and sometimes they can be quite painful. Ensure that you let a professional do it and I wish you all the best.

For a while I considered getting extensions, but I have heard they they can be pretty painful. I don't know much about hair, but is a weave the same as extensions? Also, about how much do decent extensions cost?

I am not too sure about extensions though I have always thought about trying them, but I know if you want good ones they can be really, really expensive and you have to maintain them which is costly. But over Chistmas my friend bought the clip in hair extensions which cost her about £70 for one set and she got 3 or 4 in total - she actually had them made at her local hair salon and they use real hair and match the colour to your own. When she was telling me about it I couldn't understand how clip on hair extensions will work, but they looked great when she wore them for our night out and they stay put, I was extremely impressed.
