Re: Dealing with split ends

It is obviously a lot more difficult if you can't cut your hair !  Make sure you use a hyper-moisturising shampoo like hello hydration from herbal essences, and try to eat more protein (fish, chicken and lean meat) as this can help hair health. x.

Re: Dealing with split ends

If you buy AVON's dry ends hair serum. from eather your own rep (if u have one) or buy online at AVON.co.uk

that works ever so well in repairing split-ends so u DONT have to cut them. also has sun protection in it and hydrates hair after one use. It also prevents them 2 :)

also allways make sure you use hair protection spray when blow drying or useing heated applyences. :D

hope that helps!

Re: Dealing with split ends

there is no way to get rid of already split ends than cutting them of.

but by using good conditioner and a mild shampoo you can avoid your hair from splitting any further.

Re: Dealing with split ends

I have found that if you use heat products on your hair it can make split ends worse, so i make sure that before i straighten i always use heat protective serum, i also make sure that i use straighteners that dont cause more damage than good, i use fhi and then make sure that it is properly cared for.  If my split ends do get worse, all you can do is trim them once a month with very sharp scissors!

Re: Dealing with split ends

Things You'll Need:

  • Sun Hats
  • Satin Pillowcases
  • Anti-chlorine Shampoos
  • Body-building Shampoos
  • Deep Conditioner
  • Hot Oil Treatments
  • Natural Bristle Hairbrush
  • Protein-based Shampoos
  • Suncreen Shampoos For Normal Hair
  • Deep Conditioner
  • Scissors
  • Scissors
  • Hair Salon Gift Certificates
  • Coated Rubber Bands
  • Swimming Caps
  • Video Game Consoles

  1. Step 1

Take care not to split them in the first place, because the only cure is a trim, according to trichologists (hair doctors) everywhere.

  2. Step 2

Don't brush hair when it's wet, because that's when it is at its most vulnerable.

  3. Step 3

Cool it on the heat styling tricks. That means cut down on hair dryers, straightening irons, crimpers, curlin irons and hot curlers.

  4. Step 4

Buy a natural-bristle brush that won't pull on hair and ultimately break it off, thereby causing a possible split end.

  5. Step 5

Wear a hat to minimize sun damage.

  6. Step 6

Use a shampoo that lists sunscreen as a major ingredient.

  7. Step 7

Condition after shampooing, and use a deep conditioner once a month.

  8. Step 8

Try a hair split repair product. It won't actually repair the hair, but it will minimize the stray hair look you hate.

  9. Step 9

Get a trim every six weeks.
