MINERAL MAKE-UP - any opinions??

hey everyone. it's my first post on here - so hello! I've just been to San Fancisco where everyone is raving about Bare Minerals make up. So, I decided to indulge myself (actually, it's half the price over there so I bagged a bargain!) The thing is, I think it is terrible and am not sure if I am doing something wrong. Seems to exacerbate lines and pores for me...maybe it's just not suited to my skin type?? Anyone tried it?

Re: MINERAL MAKE-UP - any opinions??

Hi there...welcome to the forum :-)

There is a post in the tips section all about mineral make-up that may help - but I run a large award winning salon where this is our top-selling make-up and all our staff and clients LOVE it!

My tips would be to make sure you are using the correct brushes to apply it with and you use the advised 'swirl and tap' method for application.

Mineral powders need slightly different brushes because the powder needs to be taken into the brush and not just sit on the end of the brush.

If you dip the brush into the powder, then use the lid to 'swirl' the brush round, this will work the powder distribution into the brush. THen tap the brush handle to remove large amounts of excess powder. Now you can apply it.

TO apply to the face, make sure any moisturiser is well soaked in at least 10 mins prior to avoid any moisture on the skin turning your powder to a 'paint like' finish....to be avoided at all costs!

Swirl the brush all over your face, following the contours for best results. You can be as haphazard as you like, there is no rule here.

If you have purchased the starter set, you should have:
Bisque - miracle concealer
Well rested - hides dark circles under the eyes and is a great highlighter
Foundation
Bronzer/Blush
Mineral Veil - finishing powder.

THe finishing powder is essential to keep the make-up in place, absorb shine during the day and give a great finish.

TOo much powder can result in emphasis of fine lines - especially around the eyes - so you need good brushes to make sure the application is good - but also to even out application if you do accidentally overdo it.

Emphasis of the pores is a bit odd....this may be if you are prone to slightly more oily skin and you're not using the finishing powder.

If I can help in any other way, just yell - I tend to check the forum at the weekends, but send me a private message if you want.

ID make-up is so pure....it beats all other mineral make-up hands down and we have been selling it with rave results for over 5 years in the UK. It's well worth the investment as it works with your skin to improve the condition as well as giving you SPF protection. There is nothing nasty that is in it and it reallyis exceptionally easy to apply.......so stick with it - it will be worth it!

Good luck :-)
