Re: Does perfume ever go out of date?

I think it depend on the brand or should I say the quality. There are some that are long lasting, both in the way they stay on you for the desired time period and also the will stay for years. While I find that the ones that the quality is not that good does bad within a few months.

You will know how a perfume smells when you just bought it because you would open it and smell it and spray some on yourself and all, so after a while if you notice the smell has turned, I think you should dump it, it may cause skin irritation.

In my opinion and experience, perfumes loose their freshness with time. I agree with Fi, that they get dark and loose their liquidiity. The fragrance also gets dull.

Thank you

I am of the view that perfumes smell better as they age,I have a grand collection and none of the range has lost the real fragrance.Perfumes smell good and they keep smelling good for years together.

Perfumes do go out of date, I think. They are chemicals mainly. They ought to expire. Moreover, it can't be safe to wear really old perfumes as their contact with the skin might cause irritation.

Try new Colour B4 by Scott Cornwall, from £9.99 at Boots. It removes semi-permanent and permanent dye to return locks to their natural shade. It won't work on hair that's been lighted or bleached, though.
