What an interesting contrast. It's too bad more women don't analyze the images they are shown Dame Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop, detested that aspect of the beauty, cosmetics, and skin care industries. IN fact, back in 1997 The Body Shop ran a campaign with the catch phrase, ""There are 3 billion women who don't look like supermodel. And only 8 who do".

We really need to be more conscious about what we are being sold above and beyond the product.

Back to Nicole again!

She has recently told Marie Claire magazine, "To be honest, I am completely natural .... I have nothing in my face or anything," she says. "I wear sunscreen, and I do not smoke. I take care of myself. And I am very proud to say that."

Do we believe her?

I don't think that there is any inate preference for tanned or for pale skin.  But there is definitely some quality of skin that makes it attractive and is related to the way it reflects light. I would certainly agree with Nicole about not smoking and using a sunscreen.
