What is the best exfoliant out there at the mo without giving me dried out skin?

I still suffer from acne prone skin despite being in my 20's, and I find a lot of the teenage ranges are too harsh giving me red flaky skin, and the adults stuff too oily (and too expensive). Any tips to shift the zits whilst still being able to moisturise and wear make-up?

Have you tried Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant?

I'm mid 20's, have fair skin which is oily and desperate to break out but I've pretty much got it under control now. I use Daily Microfoliant every morning in the shower followed by Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Fluid mixed with a drop or two of Organic Rosehip Oil (helps prevent and heal scaring - it works a treat on my old blemish scars). At night I cleanse with Simple cleanser and wash off with cold water (that bit’s important – don’t want any residue left on my face to clog my pores). Every other night I massage 3 drops of Rosehip Oil in as a moisturiser . . . if I remember :)

If you go for the Daily Microfoliant (cheapest I've found is Jersey Beauty Company - and it's worth the money) I'd use a hardcore scrub like St. Ives Apricot Scrub or Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub (I think JBC has sample sizes) before your first go, so you've got the best canvas to use the Daily Microfoliant on - it'll maintain the smoothness and stop dead skin cells clogging up the pores. I wouldn’t be without it now. My skin isn't always 100% clear but people actually comment on how good it is – something I never thought would happen :)

Hope that helps! I'm not very good at short and sweet, sorry!

P.S Liz Earle Skin Repair Light is a pretty good moisturiser for problem skin - it can be a tiny bit too heavy for me sometimes, but if you have dry skin it might be perfect. Good luck! :)

Try Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle scrub. When they say it is gentle enough to use daily, you kinda think "well does it work if it's that gentle?" but it does! Select exfoliating cleansers that contain sea salt, sugar, ground almonds, walnuts, seeds or other grainy components. Exfoliating once or twice a week is usually enough to achieve silky skin; however, women with oily skin should exfoliate more often than those with dry skin. If your skin become excessively dry or irritated after exfoliation, don't scrub so hard. Cut back on how often you exfoliate, and explore the possibility that you may be allergic to the products you used.
