Re: Children and Beauty Treatments?

It seems to me that the girls wearing make up are getting younger and younger (or maybe I'm just getting older and older ) and I don't think it's necessary. I can understand Emmie's younger sister wearing make up for shows - special occasions - but for school or every day life seems a bit much.

We live in a consumer generation, but we also have to work in it. My work crosses over with what I write about, for a full description of what I do please see my blog; http://bigclever.blogspot.com

I feel that the kids should never be allowed to use makeup. The reasons we all are well aware of, but the kids are not. So it is our duty to make it sure that cosemetics are not to be used by kids. What to talk about cosemetic surgeries. You should be able to communicate to your child the side effects of all those cosmetic surgeries.I had to handle my son in a very tricky manner, when he felt that he has thick hair on his body.

As for occasional fake nails or little makeup it is fine but it should not be a regular affair.

Re: Children and Beauty Treatments?

Many cosmetic products tend to have side effects on adult skin. I wonder how adversely they possibly affect the preteen tender skin. And the "beauty treatments", there has to be an age before one should go for it. I think the looking good today has become the entire universe for the under 18s.

Re: Children and Beauty Treatments?

i think there's nothing wrong with a bit of pampering now and then, or a little bit of make up for special occasions if the girl is not *too* young- but 10 year olds wearing make up regularly and wanting waxes etc really is ridiculous. being so conscious of such things at such a young age will surely give them a negative self image?

children seem to grow up so quickly now, it's sad. i saw a documentary about this a while ago where a 9 year old regularly had tanning treatments, manicures and so on and was generally treated like a little doll so her parents could enter her into child beauty pageants. this is pretty sick in my opinion, although obviously a bit different from what you posted about, it's not right.

also like others have said wearing cosmetics so young will probably upset sensitive young skin and lead to blemishes

Re: Children and Beauty Treatments?

Amazing!

I wonder where are parents when children are getting brain washed by the media? They are busy with their own life (probably on the same trends). Why people start blaming children when they can't bring them up properly? They overlook or forgive their mistakes saying these are "normal trends".

What they see they act.

Cheers
