Dark circles - what REALLY works?

So ever since having chemo, I've had really bad dark circles under my eyes. I was assured it would go away as the toxin left my body, but it hasn't. I've tried all manner of potions but none make much difference. They begin to appear to work, and then seem to stop working. Have you found something that really works?

The best I've found so far is one I stole from my husband - L'oreal Men's Expert Hydra Energetic Anti Dark Circles moisturising cream, but even that is showing signs of no longer working and it's a bit on the heavy side.

I eat fairly healthily (vegetarian), drink plenty of water, ger a fair amount of sleep etc.

Hi bev71

I've also had dark circles for the past couple of weeks - in my case, I can't blame ill health - I'm just run ragged with the kids!

I've started to use Garnier's new Caffeine Eye Roll-on.  As the packaging blurb says, it does have a refreshing effect and I have noticed a reduction of my dark circles.  I plan to write a fuller review once I've used it for a few more days.

There is also a website dedicated to the subject - see http://www.darkcirclesundertheeyes.com/  This site includes information on the reasons for dark circles, natural ways to improve your appearance and if all else fails how to conceal them!

I hope you find something that works for you!

Best wishes

Fi

Oh thanks Fi. I do have the caffeine roll-on but haven't used it more than two or three times. I'll give it another shot, and look into the dark circles site as well - thank you for your help!

As promised, here's my opinion on Garnier Nutritionist's Caffeine Eye Roll-on (which is the new roll-on with a massage application).

Well first bev71 and I are not the only ones who are currently using this novel beauty product - apparently, one is sold every 30 seconds!

Enriched with Caffeine, the idea behind the product is that a cooling moisturiser will instantly hydrate and refresh tired-looking eyes.  "Tests conducted under dermatological control have shown that daily use [of the formula] can visibly reduce the appearance of dark circles and bags beneath the eyes."  The purpose of the roll-on is to massage the eye area for a bright-eyed look (hence encouraging drainage).  Sold in Boots, Superdrug and other leading retailers the roll-on costs £9.99 (for 15ml).

I've been using the eye roll-on for about 3 weeks and yes, I have definitely seen a reduction in my dark circles.  I am always fussy about applying creams around my eyes, as I don't like the idea of dragging the skin around this delicate part of my face.  This was also a concern of mine about rolling the 'pen' under my eyes.  However, I need not have worried, as the roll-on is extremely moist and therefore very gentle to apply.  I found there was a slight (but not painful) tingle on application and this resulted in an immediate soothing effect on my eyes.  I don't suffer from puffiness but a friend of mine who does, has also been trying the roll-on and she confirmed that she noticed an improvement in the appearance of her eyes too.

The slender applicator makes this skincare innovation ideal for carrying in a handbag when you are out and about.  And best of all, you can even give your eyes a pick-me-up throughout the day as the light, cooling gel formula doesn't remove your make-up!

You can view a short video clip on the following link if you want to see the roll-on in action - http://www.visit4info.com/advert/Garnier-New-Eye-Roll-On-Back-in-Stock-Garnier-Range/58897

If you have tried the Garnier eye roll-on let BSS know how you got on too.

Thanks

Fi
