I've used Bahama Bronze and had great luck with it. It doesn't have a nasty smell to it either. But whatever you do, make sure it dries completely, and don't go ourside in the sun for about 8 hours after you use it.
Instead of a tanning spray have you thought about a lotion with tanning stuff in it? Something like Jergeans natural glow? That works better. Yes, it takes longer for it to show up. But it dries faster, and you can go outside right after you put it on.
